Chapter 39: The Crown Prince of the Xu Family
The Xu Family.
When Li Kairui was dragged by his dad to the Xu family, he was shocked by what he saw.
In Wan’ning City, where a piece of land costed tons of gold, the Xu Family owned a villa of more than 1, 000 square meters, just like the castles he saw abroad.
Li Kairui had become used to the prestige and blessings all these years. He’d never think that he’d fail miserably one day.
He was just forcing out an unknown star. How come he ended up stirring up great trouble?
When Li Kairui was slapped by his father to the point where his ears were buzzing, he was still wondering if his father was mad. How could the poor little star be the eldest young master of the Xu Family?
The butler invited them to the living room. The maid served tea, and the butler in tuxedo said warmly, “Gentlemen, please wait here.”
Upon saying that, the butler retreated. He didn’t tell when the Eldest Young Master would be coming down.
In the large living room, all left was the breathing of the Li father and son. Half of Li Kairui’s face was already swollen. He looked around as he wasn’t willing to admit his mistake and whispered to his father, “Dad, could it possibly be mistaken?”
If that man was really the eldest young master of the Xu Family, how come no one in the industry knew about this fellow when he was trying to force out the other party?
“Could it just be someone with the same name?”
“Oh?” The man’s listless voice came from the spiral staircase. His voice was hoarse like a piece of sandpaper rubbing against the palm.
The man walked down the spiral staircase calmly. His eyes fell on the Li family, and he laughed softly in self-mockery, “It seems that my name is too common nowadays.”
The sudden appearance of the man frightened the Li father and son who already kept a rigid look.
The father already knew the identity of this man, and he suddenly stood up while shivering. Chairman Li, who was arrogant outside, now lowered his eyebrows and showed a smiling face with a respectful attitude, “Young Master Xu, we’re sorry to disturb you.”
Xu Ningzhou was leaning on the sofa with his legs crossed. Below his knees, his trouser lines ran vertically to his ankles. His pair of bright black shoes were levelling the coffee table. He looked neat and tidy, yet he was full of himself.
Li Kairui had suspected that his father made a mistake. Now when he saw Xu Ningzhou’s face up close, Li Kairui’s heart immediately sank to the bottom.
There was no mistake. This was the man!
Before all this, Li Kairui might have arrogantly asked Xu Ningzhou to kneel and apologize to him. But now, their status had switched. Even if Li Kairui was dissatisfied with the other party’s arrogance and was furious at the same time, he dared not speak out. He was holding his fist tight and the fury made his chest go up and down. But all that he could do was to bow to this person and apologize together with his father!
Because of nothing else than the fact that they couldn’t afford to mess with the Xu Family.
Knowing the intentions of the father and son, Xu Ningzhou smiled lightly, “Apologize? Will Chairman Li be mistaken?”This text is property of Nô/velD/rama.Org.
The father was still putting on a smile when a kick fell heavily on the knees of his incompetent son. Immediately Li Kairui knelt on the ground. The father was still blaming himself for teaching his son to be a good-for-nothing and letting his son offend Young Master Xu. He had brought his son today, and it was up to Young Master Xu to decide what to do with Li Kairui.
Li Kairui was the king at home. His dad had never said one harsh word to him, let alone beating him. But now his dad directly turned him over to someone else, not caring what would happen to him.
Li Kairui instantly flushed with anger. His breathing became heavier. He felt deeply wronged and gritted his teeth fiercely while thinking, ‘Just wait for your doom. I’ll torture you to death.’
Xu Ningzhou took the coffee handed by the butler and took a sip. The smile on his face faded away. When he smiled, one was left with the illusion that this man was particularly tender and affectionate.
But once Xu Ningzhou stopped smiling, the natural dignity and power he projected could make one stop breathing.
“Chairman Li, if you are here to hit your son in front of me, you can go now. After all, I don’t have such a fetish.” The ceramic cup was placed on the coffee table to make it clear that they should leave.
The butler also appeared in time and walked the father and son out.
When the butler came back, Xu Ningzhou had already picked up some files and was reading them. He said without raising his head, “Tell the guard, no need to let in these people in the future.”
“Yes, Eldest Young Master.” The butler responded respectfully.
Xu Ningzhou finished signing the documents before picking up his mobile phone and glancing at the butler. He said, “I’ll go out for dinner, no need to arrange dinner for me tonight.”
In the garage, Xu Ningzhou called Han Shuo, but the latter’s phone was powered off.
The chairman of Huanyu Entertainment was Han Shuo in public files. Xu Ningzhou was not involved in the company’s affairs, so only those in the Board of Directors knew his real identity.
There was one reason why Chairman Li brought his beloved son Li Kairui to Xu Ningzhou today to make amends. When the company had unstoppable scandals one after another, Chairman Li was trying to use his contacts to figure out the whole situation. However, those above him hinted that his son had offended a big shot.
Chairman Li spent money attending a dinner party and one of the guests was “drunk” before releasing the information that the person Li Kairui had offended was the crown prince of the Xu Family who had just returned to China.
With the involvement of this crown prince, no one dared to help the Li Family to get out of the mess.
The eldest son of the Li Family had been taken away by the police, and no bail was allowed. The Li father became aged overnight, and he had no choice but to take Li Kairui to plead guilty in Xu’s house.
In the end, however, Xu Ningzhou wasn’t moved at all. When he returned to the car, the Li father was silent. Li Kairui looked at the villa in the rearview mirror with a dark look like a poisonous snake.
Xu Ningzhou called his cousin Shen Yinian while driving out of the garage as he was unable to get Han Shuo on the line.
The phone rang for the first time and no one answered. Xu Ningzhou started to drive and after ringing five times, the phone was finally connected.
“Hello?” Shen Yinian’s voice suddenly came up. She was panting a little bit, and her breathing was abnormal.
Xu Ningzhou frowned, “Where are you?”
The voice of Shen Yinian drinking water came from the other side of the phone. She muttered, “In the tennis hall of Jia’ning.”
Xu Ningzhou glanced at the electronic navigator. It was two o’clock in the morning. He nodded and said, “OK, I’m on my way.”
He hung up before Shen Yinian was able to reply. He then set the destination at the Jia’ning Club Headquarters located on the second ring road.
When Shen Yinian hung up the phone, she looked up and saw Song Qinghuan walking towards her while wiping sweat.
Song Qinghuan put the tennis racket on the table and sat down on the rest chair. She wiped the sweat on her neck with a towel. At the moment, her face flushed after exercising and the tip of her nose was covered with thin sweat.
Her whole body was full of youth.
Shen Yinian picked up a bottle of sports drink and unscrewed it before passing it over. Song Qinghuan reached out and joked with a smile, “This bottle of water costs a fortune now.”
Shen Yinian’s hands were now insured for over ten million now. Anything that was served by these hands would cost a fortune now.
