Mission: From Divorcee to Millionaire

Chapter 223

Nadia clutched her face, absolutely stunned. "You witch, how dare you slap me?" Her voice, usually sharp, was now even more piercing. Selena smirked, not missing a beat as she slapped her again, making sure to balance it out on both sides. "That's what you get for running your mouth!"

After those two slaps, Nadia was seeing stars, her mind in a fog. Humiliated and furious, she couldn't care less about where they were. She jabbed her finger at Selena, spitting out curses. "You're such a harpy. No wonder Everett can't stand coming home!" "Marrying you was the biggest mistake he ever made!"

"If you had any self-respect, you'd stop clinging to Everett. He's sick of you! He wants someone gentle and thoughtful, like me!"NôvelDrama.Org holds © this.

Even though Nadia was making a big scene, the truth was that she and Everett hadn't gone anywhere beyond that one night. He hadn't even stepped foot into her apartment!

That night, as they got into the elevator, he leaned back against the wall, eyes on the wedding ring on his finger. Then, out of the blue, he said he had something urgent to deal with and walked out of the elevator, ignoring her pleas to stay.

She couldn't stand the idea of Everett slipping through her fingers. She vowed to win him over and thought he might still care about his married status because, as the CEO of Bennett Corporation, reputation was everything. So, she was more than willing to deal with Mrs. Bennett first.

She tipped off the paparazzi to expose the affair, making sure Selena saw it and realized her husband's heart was elsewhere. Once the news blew up, she'd confront Selena.

She'd done her homework and knew Selena was hopelessly in love with Everett. So, Nadia crafted a tale of true love between her and Everett, hoping to push Selena to back off.

She thought Selena would be upset and maybe even confront her, giving her a chance to provoke Selena further. But to her surprise, Selena was as calm as could be, like she didn't even see her as a threat.

This was unacceptable; she needed Selena to agree to set Everett free today!

Selena wasn't about to waste time on someone who didn't matter. She was ready to leave when Nadia's words made her stop.

She turned back and walked towards Nadia.

The energy she gave off made Nadia

feel uneasy, causing her to step back and cover her already swollen cheeks. She was worried Selena might slap her again.

Her nose job was only a month old, and she was concerned it might be ruined. 'Ugh, it's so frustrating!'

Selena chuckled at the sight. "So little bravery, yet you dare to stir up trouble. He's really lowered his standards."

Looking at Nadia, Selena spoke

coolly, "Miss Nadia, right? Don't bother with me if you want to climb the socialladder. Everett and I have no feelings for each other. I'm tired of being Mrs. Bennett. If you can get Mr Bennett to divorce me smoothly, Pactually owe you one.

"On the day you two get hitched, I might even gift you a front-page spread on Ink & Insight as a blessing." Nadia was floored by her words.

Getting on the front page of Ink & Insight wasn't easy; it took status, power, and influence.

Was Selena really using this as a bargaining chip?

Was Selena out of her mind, or did she really not care about being Mrs. Bennett or about Everett at all?

Nadia was at a loss, and Selena couldn't be bothered to say more, turning to leave.

Joy softly chimed in, "Selena, Everett is here..."

Hearing this, Selena looked up and locked eyes with him.

Everett, in a crisp white shirt with
