Great to see You
Giorgino and Noah welcome Kaivan and Anne as they visit the MI6 headquarters at Vauxhall Cross. This morning, the guys had a schedule for an interrogation regarding the Luca case.
As witnesses and victims, of course, the MI6 wants to hear directly about the violence Kaivan experienced when dealing with Luca. They hope that after his testimony, it could add to the list of demands against that middle-aged guy to get him punished.
“Great to see you again, Kaivan,” Giorgino greets. “I’m really sorry about the mishap that happened to you the other day. I hope you’re in much better shape now.”
Kaivan smiles and nods politely. The four of them are now standing together in a corner of the building.
“I’m also glad to be able to meet you again…”
“You can call me Dad or Papa,” Giorgino interrupts. “Whichever makes you comfortable.”
“Okay, Dad. My condition now is much better than before. Besides, this is nothing. Back when I was fighting Cammora, I even lost consciousness for days. Luckily, God still wanted me alive.”
“If you had died, it might not be you standing here next to my brother right now,” Noah, who stands beside Giorgino, adds. His words make his brother-in-law chuckle.
“It would’ve been a big loss if I weren’t your brother-in-law. Besides, just by being by his side, he’s safe and protected.”
Noah nods in agreement. Kaivan isn’t just talking nonsense. The guy has his own uniqueness. So, the next moment, the shadowy-eyed man takes a step forward. He stretches out his hand and gives Kaivan a hug.
“Like my father said, it’s great to meet you again in good health like this.”
Kaivan returns the hug.
“Same here. Thanks for taking care of my wife so well too.”
“Someday, when all these problems are sorted out, we really want to meet your family. You two even got married without both of us being there, right?” There’s a hint of protest in Noah’s statement.
“Don’t worry,” Kaivan quickly responds. “Whenever you’re ready, I’ll arrange a schedule to make that family meeting happen.”
Everyone laughs together. Until shortly after, another officer comes and asks them to proceed to the interrogation room.
For about two hours, Kaivan is questioned. Every little detail is asked. Everything is done to dig out supporting information to strengthen the case against Luca.
“In the past, we did have conflicts. I’ve thwarted Luca’s illegal operations several times.”
The investigator in front of Kaivan nods. The others seem to be typing down the information he provides.
“Do you remember, in recent times, how many times Luca’s people tried to harm you?”
“Three times. And the last time, Luca himself shot at me,” Kaivan confidently answers. “I also want to press personal charges against him for his criminal actions towards me.”
“Alright,” the investigator responds. “We’re noting down all your demands.”
Not long after, a few officers bring Luca into the room. They make the middle-aged man sit in a chair, his hands and feet in shackles.
The middle-aged man smirks, more of a mocking expression directed at Kaivan who’s observing from a distance.
“I thought you were dead,” he says bluntly. He doesn’t care about the many officers watching his every move.
“Essentially, I might have died. But not by your hands, Old Man. My life is too precious to give to someone like you.”
Luca smirks bitterly. His face slowly takes on an unsavory expression.
“You think after getting caught, you can just roam free out there?” Luca then bursts into loud laughter. “I can do anything to destroy you or that beloved wife of yours.”
Kaivan doesn’t respond immediately. He shifts his gaze to the MI6 investigators in the room.
“Please make a note of the threat Luca just made towards me. This old man is too dangerous. Prison sentence alone isn’t enough to stop his actions.”
Noah, standing to the right of Kaivan, bursts into laughter. He’s a bit amazed by his brother-in-law’s cleverness. Then, not long after, he joins in speaking.
“I guess your job here is done,” he says to Kaivan and Anne. “Instead of lingering around here, it’s better for you to head back and rest.”
One of the investigators nods, then stands, inviting Kaivan to rise from his seat.
“Thank you for your assistance and all the information you’ve provided, Mr. Kaivan. As for your demands, we will process them according to the applicable rules and laws. We’ll keep you updated on the progress as soon as possible.”Material © of NôvelDrama.Org.
After shaking hands, Kaivan intends to lead Anne out of the room. But before they truly leave, he gazes at Luca once again, giving a slight warning from a distance.
“No matter how many people you have out there, no one will be able to touch me or my family anymore. I assure you, after this, the Sicilian group will be utterly destroyed.”
Kaivan’s threat clearly enrages Luca. The old man silently vows to do whatever it takes to retaliate for what has happened to him.
