Chapter 576 Sorry, I Hit The Wrong Target (Part Two)
Waving his hand at the two, he proudly shouted, "Goodbye!"
After a few minutes of waiting, Rainer arrived at the field to pick up the two who had just been taken out
and escorted them back to the base.
With that, one team had been eliminated from the game in no time at all.
The game went on.
On the other side, Carla was running just right behind Terence. After moving around for some time, she
was starting to feel a bit exhausted. Because of that, she had to stop for a second as she looked at
Terence while gasping for air. That being said, Terence was so light on his feet, so Carla had no choice
but to follow close behind him despite being so out of breath.
When it started, she felt a bit reluctant to participate in it. However, now that she had already taken part
in the game, she couldn't help but take the game seriously as she had always found it hard to admit
defeat.
And although keeping themselves holed up in a perfect hiding spot could help ensure their safety, it
wouldn't make the game interesting if they were to stay in one place for too long.
But above all else, Terence preferred to move on his own pace, so he had been trying to find the best
location to snipe the other teams the whole time.
Turning back to check up on her, Terence put his arm around her waist and hoisted her up into the
higher mound in front of him. "Carla, try to keep yourself hidden in here for a while. Over here, you can
see Theo's hiding place. I'm gonna take him out first."
"That's going to be just a piece of cake for you, right?"
Carla tried her best to conceal her location, and she even thought she could finally get a chance to
catch her breath.
"Carla, you shouldn't look down on Theo too much. He has also served in the military for two years.
Despite appearing to be so lazy most of the time, he actually isn't half bad when it comes to games like
this," Terence commented.
Upon making sure that the surrounding area was clear, Terence proceeded to set up his gun, aiming at
the base where Theo was lying in wait.
Carla brought out her binoculars and took a look at Theo's base. They had a good look at it from where
they were staying.
Just as Terence had expected, Theo was being extremely cautious. Whenever he'd look out to check
his surroundings, only a small part of his head was sticking out, giving Terence a hard time trying to aim
at him.
Be that as it might, Terence noticed that Theo's teammate wasn't as wary of his surroundings as Theo
was.
Seizing the opportunity, Terence decided to shoot Theo's teammate first. Content from NôvelDr(a)ma.Org.
This caused the man who was leisurely sitting by the window get smoked by Terence without much
effort. He was left completely dumbfounded for a moment. When he looked up, he saw blue smoke
rising from the hat he was wearing.
Each team's smoke had a different color, making it easier to distinguish which team they belonged to.
The second Theo realized that his teammate had been taken out, he hit the wall with his gun in a fit of
anger and whispered under his breath, "It was probably Terence's doing. Was he planning to give me a
head-on blow first?"
At the thought of that, he said to his teammate, "Bro, just wait around and see! I'm going to get back at
him for you!"
Then, he got his gun ready, poking his head out to carefully examine his surroundings as he tried to
move to another location while crouching.
Of course, Terence had a good view of how Theo was acting. He couldn't stop himself from bursting
into laughter as he watched Theo moving out on a crouched position. It seemed that he wanted to play
around with his prey even longer since he didn't even try to shoot him.
"Terence, why aren't you aiming at him?"
Carla asked as she watched everything through the binoculars.
"Don't worry. Let him look for a place to hide. It would be no fun to kill him so early in the game,"
Terence said without so much as batting an eye, freeing up one hand to hold Carla's waist.
"Carla, what do you say we go camping in the mountain in the evening? Don't go back tonight yet. Is
that okay?"
Bringing out the snacks she had inside her pocket, Carla took off her gloves and told him, "No, I can't
do that. Sally and Cody are still staying in the East Yard."
"So? What's the matter? You could just let Sally keep Father company for a night. As for Cody, he can
just stay there for one night as well. And on the off-chance that Cody is unwilling to stay there, William
will have to be the one responsible for his son, so we don't have to worry about Cody at all."
Terence leaned in closer to Carla and added, "The view on the mountain at night is truly marvelous,
and there are many people coming along as well. What do you think about holding a bonfire party?"
At that moment, Carla wasn't really paying that much attention to Terence. She grabbed her binoculars
and noticed every single move that Theo made. "Okay, time for you to stop talking. Theo seems to
have found a good hiding spot. Are you still not planning to shoot him yet?"
This time, Terence finally took up his gun and aimed at Theo. However, instead of eliminating him
directly, he only shot at the ground around Theo's feet.
And from the distance, Theo could be seen jumping around as he checked his surroundings, much like
a frightened bird, upon realizing that he was being shot at.
Seeing Theo's reaction, Terence burst into laughter as he took his gun back.
Knowing that his location had been located by the others, Theo had no choice but to move someplace
else once again. He began carefully searching for a better hiding spot to stay in.
As that was happening, Carla's eyebrows were deeply knit when she saw the scene that was playing
out on the other side of the mountain through her telescope. At that moment, she felt a bit
strange.
