I Once Married You (Harper and Benjamin)

Chapter 540

Chapter 540 False Information

Harper, drained of energy, went straight upstairs to rest.

The villa became eerily quiet, a stark contrast to the bustling outside world.

Benjamin waited to see what Frank would do next while news came from the hospital that Lauren had overdosed on medication, causing significant harm to her body.

She needed to be hospitalized for observation.

Curtis had explicitly arranged for a female assistant, Hilda Manson, to stay at the hospital to watch over her and relayed the online developments as instructed.

Curtis intended for Hilda to mislead Lauren, so she told her, "Ms. Davis, there are rumors online claiming to be from your staff that are quite damaging to you. You've lost many fans, and many online believe you are the homewrecker in Mr. Martin's marriage and family." Lauren turned pale. "What do you mean?"

Hilda showed her screenshots and other content arranged by Curtis, all designed for Lauren to see.

After reading everything, Lauren became visibly agitated. "I don't have any assistant! These are all lies, all deceits! I have nothing to do with Benjamin."

She had intended to have a relationship with Benjamin, but ultimately, nothing happened as she was hospitalized.

Hilda continued, "But the online community doesn't see it that way. They believe even your assistant has confirmed it, so it must be true. This has also negatively impacted Mr. Martin, but I think your career will suffer more. It seems like this assistant who leaked the information did it to harm you, right?"

Lauren fell silent, but she already knew who the assistant was.

Other than herself, only one other person knew her intentions towards Benjamin.

The person leaking the information was clearly someone in the know.

With a scoff, she logged into her Twitter account, posted a statement and a selfie, and even captured a shot of the hospital's wall, displaying her admission dates and details.

She stated, "Hello everyone, it's

Lauren. I apologize for any trouble or

negative impact my situation may have caused. I was hospitalized last night, so the person in the videos and photos is definitely not me, Although Benjamin has been a friend for many years, I am aware he is married, and I also know Harper as a friend, so I hope there are no misunderstandings and that the spread of false information will stop."

After checking for any typos, Lauren promptly clicked 'post'.

Hilda watched everything clearly and even secretly messaged Curtis to update him... She then whispered to Lauren, "Ms. Davis, Mr. Martin will surely appreciate your clarification, but the person who impersonated your assistant is also quite despicable."

Lauren felt a sense of relief; she tossed her phone aside and told Hilda she was hungry and wanted to eat something.

In reality, she wanted to get Hilda out of the way because she knew Frank would soon see the post and call her immediately. Her guess was correct.

When Frank's call came through, she didn't answer but hung up instead.

She didn't turn off her phone, but she wouldn't answer either; she wanted him to experience that sense of helplessness.

He had used her, manipulated her, and he should face the anxiety that comes with it.

After several attempts, Frank stopped calling; he probably guessed Lauren wouldn't answer and almost smashed his phone in frustration.

Furious about the situation, Frank wished he could see Lauren immediately to confront her.

In Frank's view, Lauren switched sides to help Benjamin because she had slept with him.

His face was stern, his eyes dark with brooding.

Because of Lauren's actions, he didn't dare stay in his apartment any longer, so he took the risk and left.

It was still early, so he had to wait outside until evening, then took advantage of the shift change to find out Lauren's hospital room and entered when no one was around.Content (C) Nôv/elDra/ma.Org.

Lauren wasn't surprised to see him; she asked, "What do you mean? Did you push me into the public eye to take the fall for you?"

Frank, his face still cold and his tone

agitated, retorted, "What are you

trying to do? Do you realize that by doing this, you are actually vindicating Benjamin? He's being severely criticized because of this situation, and your actions are only helping him. He doesn't have to do anything because you've already resolved all the trouble for him. Are you foolish?"
