Chapter 849
"I'll go call for Miss Blanchard then!"
Just as Miranda turned around, Frederick took the initiative to step forward before her and said, "Miranda, let me go instead!"
While they were talking, he had already strode upstairs. He thought to himself along the way, "This little girl, was she deliberately avoiding me because she knew I was coming?"
She really was spoiled by him! Her temper was getting worse, and she couldn't bear to be wronged at all!
Thinking of this, Frederick felt that no good will come out of this.
He shook his head. He knocked on the door lightly when he was at the door. He was afraid to annoy her again. "Ally?" He called out to her timidly.
As soon as he landed his hand on the doorknob, he was shocked to find that the door was unlocked. He pushed the door open and entered the room immediately. Raising his eyesight, he saw someone sleeping soundly with her hands hugging a pillow!
Even her mouth was hanging wide open. Frederick let out a sigh of relief when he saw this.
He slowed his pace and tiptoed towards her before sitting by the bed and gently stroking the hair on her temples. He then tapped on her gently. "Ally? It's time to wake up and eat!"
As her sleep was disrupted, Alicia hummed, and wriggled a few times unwillingly. She changed her position, and frowned even harder. "Ally?"
Frederick tentatively called her twice, but he didn't dare to raise his voice at her.
"Hmm, stop it..."
Alicia gulped, then swung her hand indignantly and said, "Yes, yes. I'm so hungry."
It was confusing. He didn't know whether she was dreaming or sleep-talking. Frederick hesitated for a while. Then, a soft sound of stomach growling sounded. Hearing it, he tapped her with slightly more strength.
"Ally, it's time to get up and eat something. We've got your favorite dumplings! You can sleep after you eat dinner."
Getting up on the wrong side of the bed, she opened her eyes and sat up. Alicia then rubbed her eyes and said angrily, "Ugh! Why did you have to wake me up?"
At that moment, another growl from her stomach was heard, so Frederick hurriedly said, "Let's eat something now! You can sleep after going home! Trevor is here too, Grandma is delighted, and everyone's waiting for you! Hold your grudge for a while, alright?"
Frederick coaxed her softly and reached out to pick up her shoes on the ground. He was hoping that she wouldn't lose her temper on the spot. After all, they were in Grandma's home, and it was a family reunion. It didn't feel right to spoil the mood!
Although she was feeling a type of way about the situation, she managed to keep her emotions in check. She got out of bed obediently and put on her shoes, "Oh, then I'll wash my face first!"
Her mind was clear and she regained her rationale. Later, the two of them went down the stairs together.
When they gathered for the meal, sounds of laughter and delightful chatter could be heard - a joyous, harmonious mood spreading over the atmosphere of the house.
Seeing her two grandchildren grow up to be so successful, and were both happy with their wives, Mrs. Clements was pleased. She couldn't hide her happiness on her face. That night, she didn't even mention that she wanted to have greatgrandchildren.
It was because she suddenly realized that what they had currently was perhaps, also the type of happiness she so strongly desired.
After dinner, the family gathered again in the living room. No one dared to overstay their welcome, so they left eventually.
Chatting along the way, the four of them then parted ways at the exit. Seeing Victoria and Trevor getting into their car, Alicia also waved at the car with her eyes bright with alertness and joy.
The best thing about her was how sensible she was; she always knew what she was supposed to do. She had always made him look good. Privately, it was more than reasonable for him to be more tolerant towards her.
Frederick was thinking of ways to coax his little beauty when Alicia suddenly wrapped her arms around his waist and hugged him tightly. She rubbed her tiny head against him like an adorable pet. In an instant, Frederick's brain went blank.
"Hubby, the moonlight tonight is stunning. Let's take a walk on the streets before we go home, shall we? We haven't done this in a while."
He hadn't held her hand in a long time too! Her gaze landed on a car a distance away, and Alicia's mind was filled with excitement. How picturesque! "Sure thing!"
Out of the corner of his eye, Frederick was looking at her as if she was possessed. What the hell was going on with her? Why did she possess such mixed emotions?"
But still, it was quite the pleasant surprise!
"Haha, let's go!"
Alicia slipped her hand into Frederick's palm. As they strolled along the street, her steps were light and cheery. The cool breeze of the night blew calmly, and the atmosphere felt quieter. Under the dim light, two slim and happy figures were drawn, a luxurious car followed behind closely.ConTEent bel0ngs to Nôv(e)lD/rama(.)Org .
It was already midnight when they got home. When Frederick came out of the shower, she was so out of it, she no longer knew how to tell time.
Looking at her, Frederick could only
sigh and shake his head. It was rare for them to have such a pleasant evening; he had even planned to
make out with her! Although she
was passionate, she was also melancholic and languid, which could be a headache to him at times. The unstable emotions drove him crazy!
After a whole day of work, Frederick gave up his thoughts and went to bed. As soon as he lay down, he saw a blurry figure inching closely
towards him.
"Hubby..."
She found a warm position, and then affectionately curled her head against him and went back to her dreams. Frederick didn't know whether to laugh or cry as he hugged her, but he felt like his heart had wings; he couldn't be happier.
He pulled up the quilt and tidied her hair for her, then gave her a gentle kiss. Then, he held her tighter and softly said, "Goodnight, sweetheart. I love you."
In her sleep, Alicia unconsciously smiled because of her beautiful dream.
When Alicia woke up the next day, it was already nine in the morning, and Frederick had already disappeared from bed. She held the pillow in her arms, feeling his warmth and taking in his scent; her red lips could not help but raise into a smile at the sweetness that entered her nose.
Sitting up, she yawned and scratched her hair, "Why am I so tired? I've only been busy for a few days, so why do I feel like this?"
Thinking about how she still had to
help her friends with the
interpretation, and how there was still one latest batch in the store, she cheered up instantly by patting her cheeks, "Come on! Come on! You can do this, Alicia! Hang on for a few more days and you can reward yourself with a long vacation."
"You have to compensate your husband well!" She thought to herself.
After making up her mind, she hurriedly tidied up the bed.
At Soaver International, Frederick's hectic schedule started as soon as he entered the office. After his meeting, he discussed inspection matters and made further arrangements on his schedule,
then went to the sales departmeet
He
and sat in on their weekly report summary. When he returned to the office, it was already four in the afternoon. Danica's text messages still sent him into a space of unease.
He couldn't wait to summon Chet. As soon as Chet walked through the door, Frederick started to say, "There shouldn't be any mistakes, right? Could you help go through it once more?"
It truly was rare to encounter such an intractable person, regardless of their gender or whether in public or in private!
